Kudos for the ICCMP
Participants consistently rate as exceptional the courses
and services provided for the Intelligence
Community Case Method Program by Thomas Shreeve & Associates,
LLC. Below
are several notes to give you a clearer insight into individual reactions
to the courses.
Dear Mr. Shreeve:
Allow me to again take this opportunity to express my appreciation for
your participation in the "Introduction to Counterintelligence Analysis" (ICIA)
course held 7-11 October. The case study methodology continues to be
exceptionally well received by the students. Your professional demeanor
and the content imparted were instrumental in the success of the course.

Dear Tom,
I found DIA's Senior Analytic Management Seminar incredibly valuable.
The case method is a way to great generate discussion, but we wouldn't
have been half as productive without your insightful guidance. This was
by far the best training course I've taken.
Sincerely,
A senior analyst at DIA |

Mr Shreeve -- Tom,
I write to convey my sincere appreciation for an excellent course and
worthwhile experience. Over the last year -- my first as a civilian in
this business -- I've sought to improve my work through self-study. Kent,
Heuer, Herman, Analysis-related publications from studies in intelligence.
I write this to state that your instruction ranks up there with the best
of these works and I will do my utmost to push more of our people your
way to benefit as I have.

Dear Tom:
Thank you so much for facilitating the "Terror in Tokyo" case
study in our Political-Military Affairs course last month.
The participants gained a great deal of insight from your presentation
and gave us very positive feedback in subsequent discussion and on the
evaluation forms. They appreciated getting a deeper understanding of
the Aum Shinrikyo incident and its implications for future strategic
preparations. They also valued the "spirited" discussion. Class
members recognized the expertise you provided on conceptualizing how
to analyze this event and its importance to national security and regional
stability.
Thank you again for contributing your time and knowledge to our course.
We look forward to continuing to work with you and use case study method
in our programs.
Sincerely,
A senior State Dept. training manager |
"Thanks very much again for a stimulating seminar.
The case study approach proved to be an engrossing way to address the
seminar's core issues and you emerged as a skillful practitioner of the
Harvard Business School's most favored teaching technique!"

All,
I wanted to provide you with a brief evaluation of the Introduction
to CI Analysis Course offered at the NACIC April 2000. As a CI analyst,
I found this course to be extremely valuable, informative and interesting.
I seriously believe it is one of the best classes I have ever taken,
including graduate school.....
But the most valuable aspect of the course was the Case Study Method
used by Mr. Tom Shreeve. We covered several cases, all true (except in
minor details) and relevant to different aspects of CI/CE....

Dear Mr. Shreeve,
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! What a superb job you did presenting
your Case Method Training Workshop (CMTW) to my instructors last week.
I already knew of your contributions to the intelligence training community,
but had no idea of the depth and breadth of your experience. It was truly
a pleasure to meet you in person and to collectively brainstorm such
a wide variety of issues.
As you are aware, here at the Joint Intelligence Training Activity Pacific
(JITAP) we are working hard to get away from traditional podium-based
teaching approaches. Our goal is to make JITAP's basic training available
via web-based training (WBT) and then to use WBT courses as prerequisites
to our more sophisticated practical exercise and case study training.
This revamping of our effort will make more efficient use of valuable
instructor contact hours and your superbly-designed CMTW is key to that
effort. You presented an excellent example for JITAP instructors to follow
and their feedback has been uniformly positive. Indeed, they are buzzing
with creative ideas about how to effectively incorporate the case study
method into existing JITAP curricula.
Again, thank you for your superb support; it is a rare pleasure to work
with someone of your caliber in the intelligence training community.
I look forward to collaborating with you on a range of issues in the
future.
Very respectfully,
A senior DoD training executive |
