About the Case Method Teaching Workshop

This three-day long introductory workshop exposes instructors to the fundamental aspects of case-based discussion leadership.  The workshop introduces the critical skills of questioning, listening, and responding in an interactive and students-driven class format.  In addition, the workshop participants will be introduced to the catalog of more than 250 intelligence and national security specific cases, both classified and unclassified, that are available for use by intelligence educators and trainers.  Class size is limited – only ten students will be accepted in each running of the workshop – in order to give each student an opportunity to practice the techniques of case-based discussion leadership and benefit from focused and constructive critique and coaching.  The workshop is designed specifically for educators and trainers focused on improving the critical thinking and leadership abilities of Intelligence, Law Enforcement, National and Homeland Security professionals in the government and private sectors.  There is no clearance requirement for access to this workshop.  Cost for the three-day workshop is $1495 per participant, and includes all necessary training materials.  Each participant will also be given a copy of the book Teaching and the Case Method: Text, Cases, and Readings (Hardcover) by Louis B. Barnes, C. Roland Christiansen, and Abby J. Hansen, published by the Harvard Business School Press.  Refreshments including coffee, water, soda and light snacks will be provided during the day.
